I think 5th and 6th graders will be much easier to manage this year.  Maybe it's because they've known me since 3rd and 4th grades.... but maybe it's because English is an actual class for them this year, with textbooks.  Either way, I had worksheets for introductions for them to do, and I distinctly remember last year being murder, but this year

What's an enkai?

An enkai is a party with co-workers. Usually people drink alcohol but not always. They also serve a many course dinner, and people pour drinks for other people and talk. They happen every so often, about 4 to 6 times a year. I go to them with the board of ed and one of my schools also invites me. Each one is about $50, eek.
