Well the Australians are arriving tomorrow afternoon and I have been enlisted by the board of education for about 30 minutes to make sure there are no problems with the kids meeting up with their host families. That should eat up maybe from 1 to 2 pm so it's not a big deal. I'm sure it will give me bonus points at work, too.
Monday and Tuesday I will be teaching the usual 3 classes in the morning, but after lunch I will not be teaching the 4th classes. Instead I will be going along on the field trips with the Australian kids to help out. I will probably get home late both nights. But I think it will be fun so I don't really care about that. And maybe with the extra time they will let me out early one day. Japanese work places usually do that. Especially since I am salaried and I am supposed to work the same amount all the time.
Today was the best school lunch ever! Curry and pear slice. The salad was even one of the better kinds. Happiness all around. Except I didn't really feel that great so it was a challenge to eat it. I started getting a headache again this afternoon but I took some medicine and I felt a little better after drinking some coffee. Makes me wonder if it's caffeine related. I worked on making a haunted house diorama for an example.... I think I will have the 3/4 class at Yamasho make them in 2 weeks because they want to study Halloween for a WHOLE MONTH of classes. (My plan is diorama, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating in the school.... if trick or treating gets denied I will make applesauce or dirt cake or something like that with them.) Then I had to teach the after school girls' club how to make grilled cheese sandwiches. I got to eat one and it made me feel even better. So I feel mostly better and I am hungry which is probably a good sign. Maybe it's just my cold making me feel bad. I think I'm going to bed early.
And ahhhhh my apartment is so disgusting. Like I know I always say that but it's really bad right now. I plan on cleaning tomorrow when I'm not helping out in the afternoon. Sunday I want to go to Koriyama to see if they can fix my camera, which mysteriously broke on Tuesday. If they can't fix it I will probably buy a new one right then, depending on what they have. Japanese cameras are pretty awesome and I could probably get one in a fun color. My camera doesn't have very good quality with video, night pictures, landscapes, close-ups.... pretty much all it does well are things that use flash in regular lighting lol. It would be nice to have a better camera.
