deer, garbage bins, bunny, risotto

I had a deer called Dylan, (he was and is not MY deer, but the fucker hangs out like he's waiting for a show)

that's last summer

but I changed his name to David Cassidy bc he's really pretty but not very smart (no offence DavidCassidyinheaven) and he started showing up regularly after Roddy was euthanized by the COs.   David Cassidy is bringing his almost twin and Dcassidy still sits in exactly that spot on my back lawn but it's now a giant mudhole (not really) because we've had a fuckton of rain.   I bought some organic apples for all these people for Christmas.
Apples are bringing all the ungulates to the yard.

Late in the evening, 3 young females,  they look so little, come by and they are my favourites.
Since living here, it's mostly males that hang out and get friendly.    The girls are a treat to me.

check this sweetness out

these two were pals all through the early spring.  I don't see raccoons these days but I do have a bunny in the front yard who stops and looks at me when I say, "Who's the best bunny?'

anyway, I was feeling like fractured glass after the cat euthanize yesterday but woke up this morning and reminded myself that I volunteered to be there to support the cat and my friend and not to make it all about me/Soma/Roddy/my dad.   fuck this year.

I made mushroom risotto in the pressure cooker and some seared scallops for dinner and it was a great meal. I tried to hook into a quick zoom toast with friends in the city but it didn't work out and that was ok even though I was wearing a purple velvet dress with a Mr Blobby pin on it.   I'd hoped to show off.

Happy New Year, if you go in for that kind of thing.
May we at last be able to hug and speak moistly
