Music Post: Mumford & Sons
I am in love with this band-- I am utterly besotted, completely obsessed, shamelessly hooked.
Mumford & Sons is a band whose members hail from West London that sound something a bit like a mashup-marriage of folk/ indie rock music, Bon Iver, and the Kings of Leon; only better. Their lyrics are honest, intimate, and their inspiring, moving instrumentals brings to mind an image rendered with nostalgia, creating a sweet, gutsy, old-time sound while bringing a modern edge to it with romantic, boisterous, rapturous lyrics.
Blustery winds, open fields, bare feet, loved and too-short trousers, good linen shirts, dreamy idealism, honest romanticism and carefree adventure -- these are all images that come to mind when I listen to them. With their passionate lyrics, gorgeous instrumentals and occasional references to Shakespeare* in their music, Mumford & Sons have certainly brought magic to my mind.
