dan brown's books are really well written..but i didn't quite like the fact that what he wrote about glorified pagan worshipping and it twisted the facts about Jesus and all. bleh. but a good book nonetheless! da vinci code!
your post has started me thinking about everything in life. my dreams, and pursing them. i've been afraid to pursing designing because in SG, only when you're some lawyer or doctor, only then can you succeed and be the best and all. i'm afraid to not be able to find a job after i graduated. but now, i think i must as well go for it. it doesn't matter if i'm not the most successful, or the richest. i'd be happy as long as i do something i truly love, that's all that matters. what's the use if i pursue something i dislike and end up miserable. no use being rich and all if i feel empty inside doing a job i hate everyday. then, there'll be no meaning to life for me.
Yeah, he has a hell of a great plot, BUT I hate that he twists and got early Christianity and history wrong. He's just a marvellous story-teller, like those old uncles telling you ghost stories when you were young and claiming no one survived the whole thing(yeah, and where do the stories come from?).
My original meaning wasn't the whole "chase after your dreams and don't care about prestige and money" because I think we can all agree that money is important. If it was two years ago, I would have said, follow your heart and don't care about people who oppose you. It's just life forcing you into a corner, this whole society that forces you to be practical and realistic.
