I finally got to see an ENT doctor last week, so hopefully I am on my way to solving my pesky sinus problems. They put a camera up my nose and declared my septum straight and my "something-er-others" polyp-free. That's grand, I imagine. However, I've got an appointment for a CT scan next week to find out what's going on deeper inside...
The upside of feeling better is I am finally getting around to trying the imps I got from BPAL back in January. I just tried Venice and it is amazing! I'm a sucker for florals and this one is so lush and sensual! There are so many complex ingredients (jasmine being very prominent) but it doesn't overpower or overwhelm you. It is just so superbly balanced and I must buy a full bottle!
This means I am going to have to get my BPAL sniff &swap party together soon! I got the DVD Perfume: A Story of a Murderer, which
wyndebreaker recommended. It think it will make an interesting entertainment for the evening! I've decided I'd like to make it an absurdly decadent night, complete with Rose Tea and caviar. lol. So far I know that
tamara_rose and
acid_poptart are definitely on my invite list, since both of them confessed to being BPAL fanatics. I still have room for a couple more perfume freaks...
In
Wilde Hunt Corsetry related news, the shoot with
acid_poptart and
manzin went spectacularly. I was very impressed with everyone's talent and drive to create something with greater, more lasting significance than what our individual selves could offer alone. We shot with
Aaron Kennison, who worked tirelessly to deliver up that perfect image.
Mary Evangelia Kelly was kind enough to slave away as our MUA. I woke up at 7am the day of the shoot and didn't get home until 12:30 at night, so you can imagine my surprise the next morning when I opened my email to find Aaron had already sent us two compressed files of images. Talk about enthusiasm and professionalism! I had an inclination that they were going to be good when I saw Aaron's eyes light up as he was previewing the sample shots on his camera, but I had no idea how good! Nothing had prepared me for how gorgeous and intense the colors were against the "surprise background" that he had scouted out for us. The shots are so lovely, artistic, and narrative that I've asked Aaron to print some of them for me to have framed. I feel like a real bastard for telling you all about this because it's a terrible shame that I can't share them with you until the magazine is on the shelves. However, I am excessively proud of our work. ;)
