And it all comes crashing down - Part II (An Apple Orchard hidden within a Field of Vineyards)

A lot of time has passed since I've last written, and a lot of things have changed as well. I didn't think that life could twist itself any weirder than it was before, but alas, I am sliding down the most twisted slide I've ever experienced. And not for the first time.

This past summer was an interesting glance into the future. Working full time is pretty exhausting, especially for myself since I need too much sleep for my own good. Factor in traffic, travel time, and eating, and there isn't much time left in the day. It's somewhat frightening, and I'm not sure how I handled it as well as I did. And "as well as I did" is somewhat misleading. If the work environment I was in wasn't as lax as it is/was, I would have had some problems. At the beginning of the summer I arrived at around 9am, and worked until 5. As the summer progressed, I found myself getting to work about 15 minutes later each week. By the end of the summer I was coming in at around 11 and leaving at 7. I was still working my hours and doing my share of work, and I'm glad that my boss is capable of realizing this. In many ways, my experience makes me want to start my own business.

Near the end of the summer, an old friend of mine from California came to visit another of her friends here. We have a past, and she naturally wanted to see me while she was here, too. Her name is Christine and we met some 8 years ago. We were in two relationships, both of which fell apart over time, mostly due to distance and the fact that we were barely teenagers. We've talked off and on since then (6 years ago) and have both grown quite a bit. We're both pretty much on our own now, trying to figure out what we want with life. She's always held a special place for me, even after all these years and after all the pain. It turns out that there's still something there, something between us. Neither one of us can really believe what's happening is actually happening, as it's so sudden and out of nowhere. We're back exactly where we were 6 years ago, before things fell apart. It's a nice place to be. What does the future hold? I'm not sure exactly, but I think this will be part of it.
