Subarashii desu wa!! It's official: The Chicago Cubs are the 2008 National League Central Division Champions! *big fanfare* The Cubs have survived a thriller to defeat their team rival the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4, shrinking their magic number right down to zero. A spectacular gem by pitcher Ted Lilly and the Cubs offense!! ^o^ Oh wow!! I watched at the computer as the Cubs closer Kerry Wood earned the save at the top of the 9th inning as the final Cardinals batter flied out to Jim Edmonds - making the fans to go out in a frenzy celebration of singing "Go, Cubs, Go" at Wrigley Field. The victory greatly declares the Chicago Cubs as Central Division champions!! \o/ PARTY AT WRIGLEYVILLE! *throws confetti*
I really love the Chicago Cubs so much because they really know how to show a true fighting spirit!! I've been a fan for 10 years and I always admire them for having that kind of spirit - no matter is they finish last or first. It's one of those things in life that make me know that everyone can have true determination to accomplish the impossible. They may have their ups and downs as each year goes by, but they sure know how to work as one team. Now that's being optimistic!!
They may have started the season all right, but they have held on throughout the entire season to win the pennant... their hopes were very much alive and they have conquered their goal. But this is just the beginning of their quest to accomplish the primary goal. I just hope and pray that they will continue this spectacular run in the playoffs as they will do their best to win the World Series once and for all! YOSH!! *pumps fist in confidence.
To celebrate this special and glorious occasion, I'm treating everyone with Yukito's homemade cookies and lots of bottles of champagne and sake. In my case, I'll celebrate this with a nice bottle of margarita. Heehee~! ^o^ I feel that I should go out there and party, but I just can't stop dancing and cheering in the computer room and all around the house as the Cubs have won back-to-back division pennants!! Let's get this party started! Omedetou gozaimasu!! *salutes*
