The Nyanko Chronicle Report #99:
The Old and New Drawing Collection of the Chronicle Reporter
One day, I was going through my closet and I noticed some of my old drawings that I kept. Even I searched for the new ones that I made as well. So I decided for one day to share with everyone by writing it here on "The Nyanko Chronicles". Let me give you a tour because some of these drawings were done during my Draw/Paint class during my high school years. I took two years of that course during my Sophomore and Junior Terms. While other drawings were done recently on different occasions.
Well, it's time for me to show you my collection of my drawings and commentate with great detail...
This is a drawing of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu from the Pokémon: The Electric Tale of Pikachu - a graphic novel by Toshihiro Ono. This is the splash page for one of the chapters called "Play Misty for Me", which Ash battles out Misty for the Cascade Badge. This was done during my Draw/Paint class in high school. I really love the way that I drew Pikachu and Ash looks pretty awesome. He looks better in this version and his hat is different, but later they changed it to the anime version.
This is a drawing of Misty and Pikachu from the Pokémon: Pikachu Shocks Back - the second volume of the graphic novel series. This is a splash page for the chapter of "To Evolve or Not To Evolve - That is the Question". This chapter is about Mikey, who tries to join a club. However, he doesn't want to evolve his Eevee. Now don't ask me why the artist drew Misty with black hair. Normally, every Pokémon fan knows that she is a redhead. Later, they corrected the shade of her hair color on a different chapter.
This drawing features one of the characters from the series Sailor Moon - Tuxedo Mask (Tuxedo Kamen). I like the way I made the drawing so soft and each detail looks pretty accurate. The expression on Tuxedo Mask was just perfect and the hair was pretty well done. It was simply amazing.
This one features another character from Sailor Moon - Usagi Tsukino. This one was all right, but I realized that the face and the eyes could've been better. I could've shaded her eyelines black, but at least the way that I drew her hair is good. I still need work on drawing her, but overall... I have to say that it's pretty all right for a beginner who is drawing anime characters.
This drawing of Pikachu with the Pokéball is done in a very different style. First, I drew it with pencil and later I carefully erased it. Then, I took markers and make dots for the outline of the items. Once it was done with the outlines, I moved on the inside part to complete the dots of the items. From far way, you can see the entire details of the drawing. However, when I take a good closer look... all I can see is just dots and not the drawing itself. It was pretty challenging, but I'm glad that it was done with satisfaction.
Ahh, another drawing featuring Misty and Pikachu from the cover of the second volume of the Pokémon graphic novel. At least on the cover, they made the correct shade for Misty's hair and Pikachu looks so cute with that pose. I'm not sure, but I think that Toshihiro Ono was trying to make Misty sexy with those clothes... I really love how perfect I drew both of them and Misty looks pretty awesome on the graphic novels.
Here we have a drawing of Pikachu and Ash from one of the chapter scenes of the second Pokémon graphic novel. In this scene, Ash is parting ways with Pikachu when the herd wants Pikachu to stay after rescuing them from Team Rocket. This was a sad scene and I'm glad that I captivated similar to the page with this drawing. I love drawing Pikachu on that one because it seem that a sad look tells that he doesn't want to leave Ash. ;____; Ash looks amazing on this drawing and I'm satisfied on the outcome of drawing him. ^___^
This is one of the assignment drawings that I did for Draw/Paint class. My teacher told me that I needed to make many kinds of categories and each category must have 10 drawings relating to it. This one was about drawing 10 different kinds of cats and dogs, so I did 5 cats and 5 dogs. For the drawing of my choice, I decided to draw this cat playing with the ball of yarn. Now that I look at it, it reminds me of one of the cats from the Outo/Edonis story in Tsubasa. *laughs* I love how I drew the tail and the ears, even the color was the perfect choice. Oh yes, you may notice his bed has a name for I called this cat Salem. ^o^
This is another of my assignments that I did, just like the previous drawing of the cat. On this one, I have to make 10 different landscapes such as mountains, cities, or castles. I was so into Super Mario 64 at that time and so my choice was to make a drawing of Princess Peach Toadstool's castle. The background of the castle is from the Player's Guide of Super Mario 64 game. It's pretty good, but honestly... I'm not that great when it comes to drawing places. ^^; Anyway, I really like this drawing and my classmates said that I did a pretty good job.
What's up, doc? I hardly draw any non-anime characters, but I decided to do a drawing of Bugs Bunny. I tried to make the background kind of similar to the ones that are seen on the cartoons. If you're wondering who fell down the hole, it was Elmer Fudd as he is trying to hunt him down. XDDD
At that time, Disney's "Mulan" was shown at the theaters and I love the movie so much. This drawing features Mulan's dog, Little Brother. He looks so cute with the bone attached to him. ^/////^ This is when Mulan makes Little Brother to feed the chickens when she attaches the food bag on to him and the bone so that he can run around. Sadly, Little Brother didn't do a good job with the task... On this drawing, I decided to do with only the bone and not the food bag. Anyway, I have to say that it looks pretty good for a cute dog like Little Brother. *is satisfied*
Now this drawing was very challenging for me to do since I'm not that great drawing real life things. This was an assignment given to the students during the Draw/Paint class. We were told that we needed to do a real life drawing that was displayed in the back of the classroom. I have to say that it reminds me of the 7th Episode of Cardcaptor Sakura, when Sakura Kinomoto and Tomoyo Daidouji were making this kind of assignment. I have to say that it was pretty good, but some of the items were not done quite well. Gosh... that dog looks like he is drunk. @___@ At least, the lamp and the curtains were done realistic and the shadows were all right. I have to admit that this challenge was very fun to do and I'm glad that I got good marks for this assignment. *super genki*
This is my personal favorite from the Pokémon drawings that I did during high school. Honestly, almost everyone during the 1999-2000 (Junior Term) school year was into the Pokémon craze. Misty was and still is my all-time favorite character!! The way I drew Misty was so perfect and the background of drawing the Cerulean Gym was the right touch. ^___^ In this drawing, I decided that Misty defeated Ash and is walking out of the gym with a victory. *laughs very hard*
I wanted to show this drawing to everyone because I like the way that I drew this young girl. This is another of my assignments that I did for my Draw/Paint class. The name of young girl is Suzie. ^___^ Even though the background is very light, I will explain that she is outside during a cold winter. Now what I like the most of this drawing is the way I drew Suzie and each detail of her winter clothes is well done. I have to say that her bangs showing in front of her winter cap was to be done in a soft way and capturing such a innocent smile on her face. I wanted to show to my class that I can be capable of making drawings of this kind.
Jigglypuff is such a famous Pokémon at that time, especially when the episodes include this Pokémon a lot with the singing gag. You may look at it big in this picture, but actually... I drew Jigglypuff so small in this drawing. Now what could've made this drawing better and more cute is to add the marker that acts like a microphone. Other than that... I have to say that this drawing of Jigglypuff is very pretty. ^^
This is a drawing of Fai-sensei and Kurogane-sensei that I did a few months ago at home. This is from the Holitsuba Gakuen concept. I'll go to more details as I included in this report the individual drawings of these two characters.
All right, we have Fai-sensei in this drawing and I have to admit that drawing him is not easy. I have to be extra careful when drawing his hair, but it looks fine. However, I going to need constant practice drawing his face for it doesn't look good. ;__________; I'm so sorry if any Fai fangirls are seeing this, I'll do a better drawing of him next time... *feels disappointed* After all, this is the first time that I draw him and with constant practice... I can be able to make him look better. Ne? *feels confident once again*
Yosh, we have Kurogane-sensei as you know he is the Physical Education teacher at the academy. At least I have to say that Kurogane-sensei looks great in this drawing. I love the way that I drew his hair and at least his is not as complicated as Fai's. *laughs nervously* I was glad that I was able to capture the expression of his face while making him be the most serious P.E. teacher who will give rigorous physical activities. XDDD
This is the graphical logo that I created for my Graphics I class during my Senior Term in high school. The assignment was to make a drawing so the details will be the ones to be sliced and be painted with ink. What I meant to say is that it will be colored with the kind of ink from the ones that they normally use for making graphic T-shirts. So I decided to take it from one of my Pokémon drawings and I chose Ash from the chapter of Pikachu's farewell. The most challenging part was to slice the details of his jacket and backpack. >__< Then once the parts were sliced, it was to be placed on a special screen that will show the details of the parts that were to be colored. A special brush was to be used with the special ink so that it can be passed under a piece of paper. The result came out as this and my marks were near perfection for this assignment.
This a drawing of Yukito Tsukishiro as a way to commemorate his birthday on Christmas Day (December 25th) of last year. *blushes* At least... drawing his glasses was easy to do, but doing his hair takes time and precision to make it perfect. I added a nice background and make it look like having a picture frame. In each corner of the background, it features his favorite things and aspects that truly describe about Yukito Tsukishiro. Whenever I draw Yukito, I always make sure that his best and my most favorite feature will be done last and with feeling - his kind and gentle adorable smile. I have to remind myself that I must make a drawing of him for this year's birthday and Christmas Day. My... he certainly does look like a very handsome Snow Rabbit!! >///////< *Hanyaan!*
Finally, this is a doodle drawing of Tsubasa's Syaoran. This one was done from a memo pad when I had a job while living in Puerto Rico. Don't worry, I was not busted when I was doodling for I was totally alone on the second floor. *grins* Besides, I did all of my duties that my managers told me to perform while they were away. I was so darn bored and I don't like when I'm doing nothing when being at a workplace. So, I took it out from one of the clips from the "Tsubasa Chronicle: The Movie" phone strap set from my Yuki-phone. I reviewed how Syaroan's hair is made and I challenged myself to do it without looking at it. The way that I drew Syaoran's face was all by myself and I have to admit to myself that I have a good visual skills for the way the hair was done nice. What I like the most of the drawing is captivating his serious and determined look. Ne, he really looks good in that drawing! ^o^
I hope that you enjoyed looking at my drawings in this report and I was glad that I decided to share this with all of you. I may be able to share future drawings that I might create and post them in this newspaper-concept journal.
Until then, take good care of yourselves and always do your best in everything! ^___~
"With all love and hope, always!"
