...So I was going to make a comment about the secret over at roleplaysecrets about the whole female v. male pronoun thing in sex/gender/wtfeverbend plot devices used in RP, but seeing the responses to people who are like "lol his vagina", with everyone getting all up in arms, I'm afraid of the lynching since my opinion isn't OMG PERFECTLY PC.

So I'm just gonna post what I was going to say here. At least here, if you guys think I'm a moron, you at least won't think I'm despicable. :3

/uses a boy dressed as a girl icon

...Jesus christ, people, they're talking about an RP device where a boy suddenly lacks his penis, or a girl suddenly sprouts one.

This is not serious fucking business. It is supposed to be for laughs, crazy hijinks, wild "what if" situations. We are not making fun of any group of people. We are not trying to slander them, nor are we trying to make light of their plight or what they go through every day. We are trying to have some fun.

I, myself, would love to see a situation wherein the switch is permanent, and the character has to adapt, slowly coming to terms with whether or not they are still -original gender-, or if they really are -new gender-.

So when did it become such a big deal to get it right in a game? I recall a time people didn't care this much. It was a simpler time, it was a better time, because it was a rare occasion that anyone had to worry about remaining PC, which made playing everything out that much easier, which in turn made it more fun.
