poetry and corny workout DVDs.

my friend charlyn complimented the poem i posted the other day, and i spent all my time on the metro today reading through my latest journal trying to decide if anything i've written in it is worth sharing with others. i came to the conclusion that, to my surprise, a lot of it is actually pretty cool, and maybe i just don't give myself enough credit if that came as a major surprise to me (it did). so, in the near future, look out for some poetic musings, courtesy of me.

i just received my copy of "8 minute workouts" in the mail today. i tried out "8 minute abs" at rich's place recently and it kicked my ass. i decided i wanted to get a copy for myself on DVD, and then i noticed you could get a set of four different 8 minute workouts -- abs, arms, buns, and legs -- all in one 2-DVD set for around $17. the DVDs are led by this guy who wears extremely cheesy spandex fitness ensembles, jaime brenkus...and the set is an "as seen on TV" offer of the past, apparently. all of the customer reviews on amazon.com seemed to be in favor of it. i figured these videos are perfect to do when you don't have much time...and it's no fitness gimmick, just a quick, intense regimen of good exercises. just like everyone else in the world, the warmer weather has been motivating me to get in shape a bit more. also, i *feel* like i've gained weight since moving back home -- even though i really haven't gained more than maybe 1-2 lbs. i am just in bad shape - that's the prob.

i'll let you all know if the DVDs actually do anything for me :)
