Today I went on a trail ride with my trainer Nancy. It is always an experience. First we arrive at Voorhees State Park. We unload the trailer (while a man who works in the bark is working on a building), then we begin to unload the horses... which is easy but a task. The man says "your not going to ride those horses, are ya? NO we thought we would bring them here to look at the view! So Nancy says "yea!" and he goes "theres no horse ridin here." nancy, " Really, ive brought them here before and they said it was ok?" .. "Theres no horse ridin here."... ok. THANX FOR TELLING US AFTER WE SET UP AND GET THEM OUT! So we reload the horses, and all our tack and head out.. to Round Valley. Now, the place has alot of turn offs so we arent sure where the horse trails are exactly..cause some places you cant bring the horse, but we were annoyed and just wanted to ride..so we park in the last turn off.. by the beach and tack up and get on. Alfee, the horse I ride is the biggest wimp ever.. and he starts to bug out.. he saw a rock and jump. Finally he settles a bit and we ride on the beach in the sand, with the water flowing and the nice autumn trees. It was heaven besides Alfee freakin out about some rock or sidewalk.. I almost got him to step in the water but didnt feel like getting thrown off today. But it was a nice way to start the day.. If you havent rode a horse before and you get the chance, i recommend it. It relieves alot of stress when its just you, nature, and a gentle giant... well there all arent gentle but Alfee is. :)
