Before I left for Las Vegas, I had the immense pleasure of stumbling on what may be the most brilliant thing on television today. If you've not seen Nick Jr.'s "The Wonder Pets", you are missing out on the most adorable thing EVER. Get this: a box turtle, a guinea pig, and a duckling, all wearing capes, go around and help those in need with their quick thinking. This is the icing on the cake, though: it's an operetta. The cute animals sing as they go on their adventure and help other baby animals. It's genius, and if I had kids of my own, they would be up at the crack of dawn every day watching "The Wonder Pets". I'd make sure of it. Conversely, I finally got to see Booh-bah and it was terrible.
I befriended a Korean guy on his way back to Korea on my plane trip. He was going to high school in Boca Raton, and he was heading home for the holidays. He showed me his copy of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn entirely in Korean.
Speaking of books, I finished Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close yesterday. I'm still stewing over it. It made me feel a great deal, but I'm not sure if I understood the big picture apart from its smaller philosophical bits.
I got new shoes and I'm eating meatloaf for dinner.
