Man....been a long time
Hey guys! Or....any of the 3 of you that still might be reading this >.<
How the hell are all of you? (Rich, Scott, Gavin) I've been meaning to update the old LJ for a while now, but what can I say? Between all that has been going on coupled with my being a slacker, I was destined to neglect the journal.
Married life is good, but Jenn sadly is not doing so well. She volunteered to help tech the "Nutcracker" at MPC over the holiday. One day while going down into the theatre from the booth, the lights were off and she fell down the stairs. She didn't break the leg, but it's a bad sprain that has still yet to heal.
Me? Well, after "Communicating Doors" I swore that I was done in the theatre for a few months. It's amazing how easily I can get pulled back in.... Jody Gillmore who was in "Man who Came to Dinner" with Scott and I called me up and asked if I could help them out with a show at the Cherry Center, "Dandy Dick". I didn't really want to and so after playing a little bit of phone tag with Jody, I gave up. Well, the next week I ran into an old theatre friend who I hadn't seen in years and she told me that she was also working on "Dandy" and that they still needed a light tech. So I asked, "Well when is it?" To which she replied, "We started last week"
....
Well, I couldn't just leave 'em without a tech so I signed on. The next week I came home to find the phone ringing. I picked it up and it was Mark, my director from "Magician's Nephew". He told me that they were doing "Treasure Island" this year and promptly offered me Long John Silver. Well, I really wanted a break, but how could I turn down Long John?
I'm not real happy with the script, but to quote Scott "Well, it ain't Lear". All things considered, it's not a bad show (It's a kids interactive show) and I'm having some fun with it. I'm a bit sad that none of the kids from last show are back (Mostly Ben and Arriel) but I'm getting to work with Taylor Metz again and getting to share some stage time with Howard Hinkley (didn't he shoot Regan? j/k...)
So how the hell are all you guys doing? Sorry I haven't dropped a line lately....but know that I still love you all! I miss my fellow Mechanicals.....
