i went down to the end of hope street today and met it with shocked saddness.
THE FOOTBRIDGE IS GONE.
I knew it was going to get taken down, and i hear their going to build a new one in a few years, but this was really upsetting. theres a chain link fence across where the entrance used to be, with a sign that reads "pedestrian bridge closed" which is funny because behind the fence and behind the sign there is nothing but a sheer drop down a million feet to the racing highway. across from there the park is nothing but a dreary wasteland. all the grass has been torn up and the litter of road construction is pilled high. the hill is gone, replaced with a partially built retaining wall. it all looks so hostile.
I know their going to rebuild it. at least some of it.
BUT THEY DESTROYED THE PARK.
