intro to music therapy

a most basic definition - using music to achieve non musical goals.
I am in a class with the same title as this post. we have our first test tomorrow. i studied with another flute/MT major and also at the AMTSA lead review session. (AMTSA=appalachian music therapy student association)
AMTSA is pretty cool. we do fundraisers to help send our members to the national and regional conferences (nationals in nov, i'm not going. regionals in spring i might go?) come to our bake sale next thursday in the student union!
this weekend my friend Audrey is driving to UNC, so Abby, Melissa and I are going too. I'll stay with ANNA! and we'll all meet each other's respective UNC friends.
one of the requirements for my intro class is observing a music therapy session and interviewing a music therapist. so a few weeks back i emailed three therapists in raleigh/chapel hill to see if maybe I could attend a session sometime over the weekend or maybe friday afternoon or monday morning. but the way rides worked out I'm going to miss all of classes on monday, BUT i finally got in touch with a music therapist at dorothea dix and I'm basically going to spend the whole of monday there. I'll get to see a lot of sessions and I'm actually really excited about it. I'm sort of nervous about getting there and everything, but I think it will be a really good experience. and I'm just glad I got it all figured out.
so tomorrow I have my first psychology test, my first intro test, and a quiz on vocal anatomy. today i had a piano quiz, thursday i have a music theory quiz, and friday i have an aural skills quiz.
i don't even know what else to say. i had a coffee with my dinner and now i am SO CRAZY right now and i have to study so much kladhsfljshafg
things i am excited for:

going to UNC and seeing ANNA and GIOVANNA and IAN and TREVOR and WARD WARD WARD
going home sunday night!
