Dusts off this journal for a 30 days green smoothie challenge

Welp, I've signed up for a 30 day green smoothie challenge, where I must drink a green smoothie every day for 30 days. I like the setup for this challenge for the most part. Every week the challenge runners will send a shopping list and 5 smoothie recipes. This week's shopping list includes:
FRUITS:
2 bananas, bought 6 for $1.39
Blueberries (36 ounces), bought 48 ounces for $10.99
Raspberries (10 ounces), bought 48 ounces for $10.99
Strawberries (6 ounces), all ready had some!
Cherries, pitted (20 ounces), bought 48 ounces for $7.99
1 lime, , bought 1 for 25¢
2 peaches, bought 2 nectarine for 81¢

VEGGIES:
1 bag fresh spinach (10-16 ounces), bought 10 ounces for $2.99 with a bogo free sale
1 bag fresh kale (10-16 ounces), bought 10 ounces for $3.29 with a bogo free sale

OTHER:
1 carton almond milk, unsweetened (32 ounces), will use regular milk
1 green tea bag (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf), bought a box for $4.59
Almond butter, bought a jar for $10.99 (WTF?!?!?)
Cacao powder, all ready had some!
Chia seeds, all ready had some!

This shopping list is expensive (~$60) and includes a lot of stuff I don't care for like berries. Hopefully these smoothies taste good and won't take me the whole day to drink one...

The recipes
Week 1

CHERRY ON TOP | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cups water
1 banana
1 cup blueberries
1 cup cherries, pitted*

*Can substitute cherries with berries.


B-LIMEY STRAWBERRY
serves two
2 cups fresh kale
2 cups water
1 lime, peeled or juiced
2 cups blueberries
1 cup strawberries


ALMOND PEACH BLUEBERRY
serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
2 peaches, pitted*
1 cup blueberries
2 tablespoons almond butter

*Can substitute peaches with mango or nectarines.


KALE ‘N CHERRY | serves two
2 cups fresh kale
2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
2 cups cherries, pitted*
1 banana
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds

*Can substitute cherries with berries.


U-PICK ME UP | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cups green tea, brewed and chilled*
1 ½ cups raspberries
1 ½ cups blueberries

*Use one green tea bag or 2 teaspoons loose leaf.

Week 2

STRAWBERRY CARROT PINEAPPLE | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cups coconut water, unsweetened
1 large carrot*
1 cup strawberries
1 cup pineapple

*Can chop and steam carrots to make them easier to blend, or leave them raw.


HAWAIIAN BREEZE | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
1 cup coconut water, unsweetened
1 orange, peeled
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mango
1 banana


SHAUNA’S CARROT CAKE | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
1 ½ cups almond milk, unsweetened
2 large carrots*
½-inch fresh ginger, peeled
1 cup pineapple
1 banana

ORANGE JEWELS | serves two

2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
2 bananas
1 cup raspberries


SOUTHERN SWISS | serves two
2 cups fresh swiss chard
2 cups water
1 cup strawberries
2 peaches, pitted*
2 tablespoons coconut oil

*Can substitute peaches with mango or nectarines.


APPLE BERRY PUNCH | serves two
2 cups fresh swiss chard
2 cups water
1 ½ cups mixed berries
2 apples, any variety, core removed


GREEN GRANNY | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
1 ½ cups green tea, brewed and chilled*
1 granny smith apple, core removed
1 cup green grapes
1 cup mango

*Use one green tea bag or 2 teaspoons loose leaf.


PUMPKIN DREAM PIE | serves two
2 cups fresh spinach
2 cups almond milk, unsweetened
1 cup pumpkin, unsweetened (canned or fresh)
2 bananas
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Week 4

JUST PLUMMY | serves two

2 cups coconut water, unsweetened
2 large plums
1 cup mixed berries


APPLE ALMOND BUTTER & JELLY
serves two

1 apple, any variety, core removed

COCO-MINT MOCHA | serves two
