Recommendation
I've mentioned this to a couple of you already, but I recently had a conversation w/a friend about how sad it was that more people did not know about Black Sails, so, here's a rec. I have talked three people into watching it thus far, three very different people, and all loved it. It's the sort of thing I would think stereotypically would appeal

I'll go with:
1. Season Two. Couple of plot holes, one that I caught the first time (you know what it was, we discussed at length, regarding a particular character's behavior in a particular situation, and they shoulda had something else to set up the payoff) and one my SO caught (regarding a particular character's change of heart regarding the a willingness to, errr, how can I say this non-spoilery? The entire thing that set up the final few eps the way they played out, vs same character's attitude toward this sort of thing at end of season 1; I can sort of intellectually justify it to myself but I think she's probably right that any such justification is on shaky grounds when you really think about it)(email me if want to know more). But . . . This was just one of the most viscerally and thematically satisfying seasons of television ever for me, with some of the best dialogue ever, too.
2. Season three. This was, just, artistically, perfect. Or close to it. I didn't love it as much as season two, but wow for the way everything was handled.
3. Season One. I liked it much better on both rewatches than the first run-through, where it partly wowed me because of initial low expectations and partly I failed to really appreciate it because of same.
4. Season 4. Still very, very good. Great in places. You know my various reasons for not loving it as much as the others.
