[Warning: Weird ?rant? thing?]

So I was listening to the radio at work tonight, and there was some under-payed floozy on the radio ranting about road-rage and car-park rage and x-rage this christmas, and one thing she kept saying caught my attention (the other things caught ebola and died in mid-air). She kept ranting on about how people shouldn't do these things because it's christmas, and christmas is the one time of year to be giving and caring to others.

...so I say to this, wtf.

Ok, Christmas is a time of year for gathering with your family and friends, and giving to them, I get that. If Christmas isn't your thing, there's probably an equivalent holiday that you observe that results in giving of gifts and gathering together to be close to another. What I don't get though, is why this woman kept ranting on about how this is the only time of year you're supposed to be good to the people around you.

I don't know about most people, but I try to be good to the people around me, all the time. Admittedly there are people who are negative towards me, and once they turn that corner, well, I'm less inclined to show them any kindness or sympathy, but I try my best to be caring and giving to others where I can be.

Christmas to me isn't really such a big deal anymore, and to be honest I could probably just stop observing it and calling it "Gift giving day" anyway. I try to be there for those that are close to me especially, anytime they need someone to be there for them, and it just weirds me out that this woman is talking about being kind and caring about others like it's something we save for special days.

[/End ?rant?]

There's something seriously sucky going on with this weather right now. It's wayyyyy too hot and impossibly humid for this time of year. Ugh.

Fear the monkey!
