I like Madison a lot better when there's not a lot of college students around.
I went to the library to drop off some books and on State st the Piper guy was still playing and he was wearing a Santa hat. Since it's amazingly nice out i went to walk around more and then saw two 4 year olds dressed as harry potter running and sliding on the Memorial fountain. Then,i went up Bascom to go down to the lakeshore path, and people were on the ice! There was somebody ice skating, and another person had brought his bike onto it. Someone was grilling, and another was gauging how deep the ice was in each spot. I started talking to this guy who worked at Hoofers, and he told me that the ice up till a certain point was 5 in deep, and after the line it was an 1 or 1/2. Then he pointed out where some drunk people had started a bonfire on the ice and how the fire fell in. There was this area of water open and some ducks were floating around, and i met this old guy who came from up north and we talked about the lake and thin ice. He had a really cute dog named Charlie. I then walked pass the Piper guy again and he smiled at me.
I'm bored as hell, but Madison is still entertaining.
