Aside from a ten-minute scene from Death and the Maiden for Lingua Franca (the bilingual acting troupe), I'm not doing any theatre until I start up directing The Countess in December, so I'm finally getting some long-needed rest. The next year's slate at TLT is starting to take shape, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a possible choice. God forgive me, but I'm actually rather excited about the idea. It's great music, and loads of fun to work on. Other choice material mentioned includes The Elephant Man and Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending. On the Theatre a la Carte side of things, next fall will all but certainly feature Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and two summers from now may see a production of The Scarlet Pimpernel, or even Nine if the director can't get Aida.
Aida. In Tallahassee.
