Lush...ious day

We ventured into the nearest suburb of Seoul today, Ilsan to look around and basically check the place out. It's where people from EV go to hang out, eat dinner, go drinking etc. It's a lot like a Ichibancho for Sendai people. The video iPods made the hour ish bus trip not nearly so bad (for the record, the EV shuttle takes 20 minutes, but only goes a few times a day, and we missed it both ways).

So, we're walking around, and I smell a familiar scent in the air, and said "wow, that smells like a Lush store!" And yup, just ahead, there was a store. I figured that if there was a Lush store anywhere around this would be the place. I knew there were some in Seoul proper, just not so close. So, I got a bar of my favorite soap (honey I washed the kids). The disapointment though was that all the soap was made in Japan, and the prices were higher than Tokyo. But, it's really funny that I found Lush stores in Tokyo by scent as well.

In other shopping news, I found a decent everyday tea pot. Glass, with stainless steel strainer basket. I'd had one similar to it in Japan, which I'd liked. Possibly even the same one. Good teapots, and even tea are hard to find in this country. We find this surprising.

The most exciting shopping find however was Cheddar Cheese! Granted, it's Land o Lakes brand, which is never amazing... but we're still thrilled. This is the first cheddar we've found in the country.

Lastly, we tried our first Korean restaurant, and it was a success. Weighed, measured and sugar free. Yummy too, oh and cheap.... about $9 for both of us. We could have spent a lot more at other restaurants very easily, but this was a good first foray out into the restauant scene. Wonder if I can convince Brian to go out tomorrow to one of the local places. It's not really more expensive than cooking can be.

Not a bad day if I do say so myself.
