Two things I wonder regularly but have not yet looked up:
-- If you put on SPF 30 sunscreen, that means it lasts for 30 minutes, right? But is it 30 minutes of actual time, from the moment you put it on, or 30 minutes of time in the sun? If I put it on and then sit around inside, is the clock still ticking?
-- If I thumbs-up or thumbs-down a song on Pandora, does that get taken into account for my account entire, and everything they ever serve me again, or is it just for that station? Sometimes I thumbs-down a slow song when I'm looking for peppy, but that doesn't mean I always hate The Shins.

In other news: how frigging amazing is this news story? Japanese scientists accidentally created mice who twitter like birds. Whaaaat! I need a scifi novel about that IMMEDIATELY. And also about 38 poems. And maybe a tie-in to the Virginia Woolf thing about hearing birds singing in Greek. And the whole Margaret Atwood Oryx and Crake world.
Ugh, embedding's disabled on the video, but
here it is. Aahhh!

I hope you're all having wonderful holidays of whatever flavor you prefer. I was trying to explain recently why the LJ cameo in the Facebook movie was so exciting: it's like if you were watching a movie and suddenly got to shout, that's my house! They're showing my house right there!
