So, watching the campaign trail the last few days has sparked some questions in my mind. Questions for you, my friends, but also questions for the ether, if you will. First though, I have to say that I'm glad that Giuliani may be out very soon. Frankly ... the man scares me. If you thought Bush spouted 9-11 a lot ... Yeesh.

Anyways. About those questions ... )
Obama/Edwards could be a really great ticket, actually. I agree with you there. Poor John. I think the problem is for this election that he's up against two opponents who are far too well known and controversial, as well as popular. Last election he had a better chance because he was pretty (I am convinced this is true) and although not as well known as Kerry, he wasn't facing down the first possible black or female presidents, he was facing down a lot of older white guys. But he's always struck me as more of a VP type anyways ... Which is sort of sad, if you think about it.
Well, I think that's a lot of marketing, sad to say. The problem in America in my opinion, is that no one's really that interested in politics that much. And to try and draw the public interest, they dress it all up and throw snazzy graphics and buzz words at it. It makes me sad inside, really. I grew up in a political family, though, so it's always been somewhat important to me. I have a hard time understanding why so many people are generally apathetic or uninterested about the politics in their country, and why a huge portion of my age group don't get out and vote. Urgh.

I think Obama/Edwards is the best option I can currently think of. There are probably better candidates, that don't stand a chance, but there you go. (And honestly, it can't get worse, can it? ;)
Yeah, I saw some of the debates and commercials, and it's baffling for Europeans, because politics is very, well, dull here. Hehe. I've always been interested in politics, and I'm one of the only people I know who avidly supports the obligatory voting system in Belgium. It's the most democratic way of getting fair results, after all ;).
