My first Fanfic in ages!
Okay I've crumbled and written my first fanfic for Downton Abbey. I haven't written fanfic since The X-files so its been a looooooong time. That was even before I spent two years in college studying writing before transfering schools twice starting two other degrees and then dropping out to intern for a senator and then work at the largest law firm in Chicago. Then came a failed engagement, Europe, Chicago again, Finishing my college degree with a tripple major, Working at the Art Insitute, and finally back to my hometown and another completly different career. So, yeah there wasn't a lot of writing inbetween. Well, other then the Tudor related novel I co-wrote with a friend but we've yet to self publish yet as we are still looking for a graphic artist we like to contribute. So, okay there was so writing I will admit. But, mostly just reading lots of fanfic for X-files, Veronica Mars, and Sherlock BBC before the huge Downton Abbey crush that sucked me in big time.
Phew.
Anyway, the fanfic is called "Burning Bright" and features what else but Matthew and Robert.
I really love reading Matthew and Mary but I just could never be clever enough to write them.
So, I spun on the idea to explore the character relationship between Matthew and Robert, while splicing in Matthew's own father, literature, mentions of Manchester and his war experience. There is also a little nod to his upcoming wedding to Mary just because.
