So, I had a Downton Marathon with a friend. Nothing new there, I love watching the show with friends. However, this friend was leaving for summer school at graduate study and we wouldn't see each other nor be able to do anything together for at least six weeks. :) Oh there is always something new!
I should try and get her to recount her POV because it was very different from other friends I've watched it with. Not only did we get to squeee like fangirls because she enjoyed the M&M relationship like I do but she also was a good plot guesser...especially given lots of wine and no sleep!
Being an English major my friend guessed the book Mary acts out in CS... I actually couldn't believe that it was very impressive!

Oh cool!!! I had a friend who guessed what happened to Lavinia (predicted in 2x07) based on the fact that Matthew was so noble, and Lavinia wasn't going anywhere and...well, M/M forever. I was impressed!!! :p

Ah yes my friend told me to stress what she thinks is most important is that she was not taken in at all by the Sybil/Branson romance. She really hated his line "you serve hot drinks to a bunch of randy soliders" .... she didn't see how Branson actually understood or supported or loved her based on the fact he kept constantly screwing up and then his actions got forgiven so he never learned consequences only that if he pushed and pushed and pushed he could get is own way. So, with season three she predicted given the epic "troubles" of civil war etc that Sybil will have to return to Downton for safety and will be disallusioned at Branson who has gone all warrior like which scares her. Maybe she will lose the baby? Maybe it dies before of the civil war, maybe she brings it with her but she will then develop a crush on Matthew and that will cause angst between she and Mary (the look Mary gives Sybil after she's hurt in 1.06 is only the beginning) .... I don't know about this idea but heck anything could happen!
