The Job Continues, and Liz is Wrongfully Accused...

Good news on the job front - they want me on for at least the next month. Everyone is so nice, and I love working there. I've already been there for a month which is crazy. Time is just flying by.

My boss had hired another temp to work on this stock option file, and he ended up terminating her. She was awful - she never talked to anyone, she was always making and receiving calls on her cell, everytime I walked by her cubicle she was on the internet, and she would leave for long periods of time. After two weeks she hadn't finished the file (no surprise). When I started working on it, I couldn't believe that it took her that long and it was incomplete. I actually ended up having to go through the whole thing and fix all her errors. Ironically, it only took me one day to redo the entire file.

I had a funny experience on the train last week. There's this group of women in their 30's that always sit together on the 525. They sit at the front where the chairs face each other, so it's like a little social thing for them. Anyway, I ended up in the seat behind these women, and unbeknownst to me next to a woman they knew. So I had my iRiver going with Loveline, and I had started playing my DS. Now since it's talk radio, I didn't have it too loud, so I could hear conversations around me. But they didn't know that.

So someone farted, and it was really bad. I thought it was the woman next to me, cuz it was really strong, but in a car of 100+ people, you can't really point fingers. The women in front of me, like 10-year olds, starting waving their hands and going "wooo does it smell in here!". I kind of smirk a bit, cuz it was funny. And boy did it smell. So then the woman next to me, thinking I can't hear her, leans forward and tells the woman "I think it was the girl next to me." I'm like no way was I just wrongfully accused! I'm laughing in my head 'cuz they think I can't hear them, but I said to myself, Hey, nothing I can do. It probably was her and she was insecure and needed to pass the blame. Whatever, it wasn't a big deal, but it certainly was funny.

But then, when we got to Salem, I had to get up and walk by the women in front of me to get to the door. Wouldn't you know these 30-somethings started making farting noises as I walked by! I'm thinking, "No way, no way are these grown women acting like elementary school kids." I still have my headphones on mind you, but I can hear. I glance down at them and they are looking at me and smirking and stuff. Unbelievable! I never had that happen to me in all my years of grade school - and here I am on a train with professionally dressed women who are making farting noises at me. Of course, if it was teenagers or little kids, there'd be no story. It doesn't bother me at all, but it was just so funny that these grown women were acting like little kids. Had to share that amusing situation.
