Ultra busy

This was one of those weeks that felt like 3 weeks combined.

Emotionally, really sad. Dom and his family had to put their dog, Gadget, down on Tuesday. She lived a good long life, but she just had too many problems accumulating, and it had reached the point that nothing could be done anymore. They gave her a natural burial in the backyard. It's just been all-around sad and depressing. When I think about her, I can't help crying a little. Dealing with death and loss haven't always been my strongest point.

In other news, I'm working a temp job in Cambridge. $12/hour for a company called Atlantis Components, who manufacture and sell dental implants. They are in the middle of an audit, so I am helping out with odd jobs in the finance department, mostly organizational in nature. I started this past Weds and should be there through til the end of next week. It might be longer, but I am not sure yet. The day is long though. 830-530, I only take a half hour lunch (my choice, I get bored after that). However, I'm commuting in via the train and bus (cheaper than parking). They stopped running the Green line from N. Station to Lechmere (quite a while back), so they have a bus running that stretch - but it's still the same price as the subway. I hate the bus. So I leave my house around 640am and don't get home until about 7pm. I have no time for anything else but get ready for the next day and sleep. At least it's only short-term, but the money is pretty good. I doubt I'll ever have one as convenient as Naked Restaurants.

Summer session begins on the 16th. A lot going on that week. I'm just taking 2 classes, Family Therapy and Counseling Seminar, Monday and Tuesday night respectively. Supposedly the seminar never meets: you are just assigned a 30-page paper for the session. That's ok in my book! Then on the 19th, I have graduation rehearsal, so I have to truck all the way out to Framingham with my cap and gown and line up with my class. Brings me back to the HS graduation rehearsals. Man, those were a pain in the ass. Then on Sunday the 22nd, graduation. It'll be good to finally officially close that chapter of my life. I'm still connected to Framingham until that graduation, and it'll be nice to have it done.

Marblehead still has not contacted me with either a yes or a no for the internship. I hate being left hanging. If it's a no, hey, let me know so I can get back to looking. I put off a couple places because I was under the impression they were almost certain about taking me on. Now I have to think of how to politely contact them without possibly ruining the chance I had.

Dom got me hooked on Loveline. I have all of 2003 on my iRiver, and I'm just listening to it constantly, commuting to and from work, and at work while doing my projects. It's so good, funny. It's nothing like Howard Stern (that guy's a jackass). For anyone who hasn't listened to it, it's just people calling up with problems, and Adam Corolla and Dr. Drew talk with them a bit, try to find out what's up, and give them some advice on what they should do. Most of the callers have pretty bad past problems, like abuse and stuff. It can get a little heavy at times, but Adam and Drew are a funny pair, especially Adam, so it's really great to listen to. We used to get it around here on the radio, but no more. However, you can listen to it via internet radio. They play the previous night's show.

Eh, s'about it. Gonna do some gaming.
