Yesterday was a long, long day.
Highlights of the day included the 3 1/2 year mark with Dom, which we observe but of course don't celebrate. It's all by years now :). I got an interview at Emmanuel College to intern in their counseling center. Hopefully that ends up positive. I already feel a little less stressed about it. It is very difficult to find graduate-level internships for mental health counseling. I'm glad I went on to get my license though, because there are not a lot of opportunities for a BA in Psych. Well, good ones anyway. Seems to be mostly for children and elderly, and since my focus is adults, well, I had to go on.
Yesterday was the Day of Delays. I went in early to get some research done at the library. The 1238 was 40 minutes late. And it was freezing cold down at Salem. Then the 930 outbound was 20 minutes late! I swore I jinxed my trains or something, but then I found out that the train had hit a car in Beverly, so I think all our trains were off schedule in the evening. The noon train was late because it broke down and they had to send out another one to complete the route.
Last night I had my first test as a graduate student. Of course it wasn't a pivotal moment or anything, but still it was cool. It was the midterm for Adult Development, and I didn't find it too difficult. It was a step up from undergraduate level, though. I only have one other midterm in another class and then a final in this class for tests. It's nice to just have papers to worry about.
Registration is coming up after Spring Break. They should be posting classes next week. They may be offering some MH classes in the summer (they rarely do), so I'm gonna jump on whatever I can to knock off some more credits.
Stress has diminshed a bit, but March will be the month of papers/presentations. My plan is to get all my research in the next two weeks. Then over break, I can put together my papers and presentations. Can I achieve this realistically? Maybe. I'm gonna try my best though, cuz I really want to just coast through April.
Not much else to say except that I'm sick of the snow and I am longing for those warm days with the cool breeze that you open all your windows for, and the whole house feels fresh. I love that feeling. I love Spring and Summer. I'm ready for the heat!
