So it's that time again to find an internship. I have to take the Practicum class, which is basically a year-long internship. I have to work at least 15 hours a week in a mental health setting and have an ongoing caseload, AKA I'll be counseling. It's very exciting, but right now I'm stressed. You need to fill out a form before taking the class. By March 15, you need to have 3 interviews at least scheduled. It just adds unnecessary pressure to things. I've emailed 7 places and I have 2 others to snail mail. Tomorrow I need to stop by the EHS office to peruse "the book" of internships.

That's my main concern right now, and my main stressor. Classwork consists of a few research papers which I should get going on soon, but I feel I have plenty of time. Once I get this stuff out of the way, I'll have a more clear mind to work on them.

Yesterday was the Superbowl (duh), so Dom and I had a Non-Superbowl Party, 'cuz we could honestly care less about sports. Ok, ok, we did watch the last few minutes, barely uttered a "yay" when the Patriots won, and flipped over to Food Network. We did, however, catch some of Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Frolicking puppies playing in a makeshift stadium. Fouls were called when they dropped a log on the field. It was 3 hours of puppies playing! We didn't watch it all, but hell if it wasn't cute!

I finally finished Book 3 of "A Song of Ice and Fire" a couple weeks ago. And damn, is it a good series, no, GREAT series. I was totally sucked in from the first book and haven't looked back since. I haven't read such an engrossing story in a long time and the writing style is perfect. So yeah, if you're into medieval fantasy or medieval settings in general, read this series! I have to wait until JULY for Book 4 to come out. And then I have to decide which to read first: Harry Potter or ASOIAF? Probably Harry Potter, it will undoubtedly be shorter.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying living at home again, no longer immersed in "dorm life". It's just nice to be home, having my car right outside in the driveway. Taking the train to Boston hasn't been too bad. No hassles with the car, getting gas. It's all walking, which I don't mind at all. My only other thing to do is work on getting a job. This job could end up being the practicum, which would be cool. Makes things easier all around. But, as what happens sometimes, things don't always go as planned. Suffolk offers little to no mental health classes over the summer. If they offer anything, I'll take it. But what if there's nothing? I can't sit around all summer, and don't want to either.

And so the crusade begins for the "real job"....
