First day at Suffolk

No day can be truly flawless. Yesterday was no exception.

My sister drove me to the Wakefield train station, because I couldn't seem to "identify" the train's designated parking lot. By this I mean there were several two-hour parking areas, and then there was one lot across from the station, but I couldn't see the numbered spaces that should be there. Confused and a little panicked, I drove home and Jenn dropped me off. She's the best sistah!

Train ride was nice, listened to my iRiver. Then came the T crap. It only sucked cuz it was SO cold out yesterday. I'm pretty familiar with the T so I had no worries about changing trains etc. The best route for me was Green Line, Park St to Govt Ct, switch to Blue, Govt Ct to Bowdoin.

Next I located the book store so I could write down the books I needed. The lines were down almost to the back of the store, and besides, it's cheaper to buy online. At this point I found out that Suffolk's mascot is the "Rams", the same as FSC. Thus, since high school, the team mascots have always had some sort of horns on their heads. Weird. Another funny thing was my Research Methods class requires two books, and one is the black APA manual I used during undergrad. I'm so gonna own that class.

Finally it was time for class (Counseling Theory). All the way up the hill, and 4 people show up (5 registered, 6-7 needed to have the class). The class might be cancelled. It's a shame, cuz the prof was really nice. I'm pissed, but what can I do? I'll have to go through the hassle of add/drop, and I still don't know where everything is yet! Good side is that was the only class in that building. My other 3 are in a different building (same floor too!).

So class ended after 30 minutes, and I had 2 1/2 hours to kill. I sat in the lounge of the building I needed to be in, listening to my iRiver. Again, didn't know where to go really, and it was too cold out to explore. Wished I had my book, but who knew?

Around 7 I headed upstairs for Interpersonal Skills (it's basically the Topics class I took at FSC, but with more application). This is where I learned that, even in graduate school, there are still obnoxious, rude, and annoying bitches. There are two sections of the class and we were combined just for the first day (split by mental health and school counseling). Luckily the bitches were all in school, so I don't have to see them again. But man, they talked the whole time the prof was, they made fun of some kid cuz he said a teacher's name wrong, and just overall acted like high school girls (or college freshman, which seem to go hand-in-hand).

On a lighter note my teacher seems VERY nice, and some of the other girls in my section were speaking very highly of her. So I'm looking forward to that class.

Overall, the day was just good.

Today I'm going to go back down to Wakefield to locate that damned parking lot, because I know it exists: the box to pay for your space is at the station. Tonight is Adult Development. I'm praying none of my other classes get cancelled. I'm still praying Counseling Theory isn't cancelled.
