Weather Bad, Kotobukiya Good!

Well today proved to be long and exhausting. I'm sure the weather aggravated that fact, as well.

After my office hours, I decided to head out to Cambridge. Parking in Cambridge is very difficult to find, so I wanted to give myself plenty of time to get in and find a spot. Plus, the weather today was outrageous. This constant misty rain that made seeing more than 10 feet in front nearly impossible. Not to mention the fact that this morning my car was blanketed in a thin layer of ice.

Somehow, luck was on my side and I found a 2-hour spot a few streets up from my interview, and about 5 blocks from Kotobukiya, the local Japanese market. Picked up some milk tea and chocolate soda, prawn chips and corn chips, berry pocky, kiwi gummies for dom, two instant noodle bowls, and natto, which is fermented soy beans. Well, I didn't like the natto, but that's ok cuz I wanted to try it, and it was cheap.

Then I sat in my car for awhile. It was boring.

The interview ran from 2:30-4:30. There were 5 prospective students, with me being the youngest and the only psychology major. We went around and introduced ourselves, giving a brief overview of where we are at right now. There ended up being about 4 questions that we went around and answered, then had discussion after each person answered a question. The professor who was interviewing us posed the questions, then whoever wanted to answer would go, then he would say ok let's open it for questions and discussion. It really wasn't difficult, because the questions were personal, such as what brought you to seek a career in counseling, where do you see yourself in 5 years, what are your ideas that drive you or that influence you (some of us answered with theoretical orientations), and what you think about making mistakes (random but relevant).

Overall, it went well, I did fine.

Afterwards, I decided to go home for a few hours. Since I was halfway between Peabody and Framingham, I thought it would be nice to relax a bit, see the tree, and maybe get some home food. I lucked out and my mom had come home early to make some meatloaf! She was surprised to see me. So I got to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. Actually it was the only thing I ate today. Oops!

Got back to Framingham at about 9. I was gonna work on some Data Structures, but I guess I'll do some tomorrow morning before class. I'm too tired. I've been feeling tired for the past 2 weeks. I want nothing more than to curl up into my bed and sleep into another day.

Today's happy thought is that I will be done a week from now, this moment.
