if i have to see that pier one commercial with one more time, i think that i will have to seek her out and murder her. santa baby does not want you, whore! i think that i've had a tv overdose since i've been at home, and it's not a good thing. i've watched way too many movies and i really need to get back to books and coffee. i tried to go to aroma's today to sit and read my new christmas book, "dude, where's my country?", but the place was FULL of freaking tourists. one of the downsides of williamsburg during the holiday season. then i tried desperately to think of a suitable back-up coffeeshop, but none came to mind except for starbucks and i definitely was not going to solicit that awful place. seriously, just change the menu to big macs and you have mcdonalds. i'm sorry that i'm a snob, but not really. so after "purchasing" two books at the book exchange, i headed for home to veg on the couch some more. i had an enjoyable holiday with my family at home, but now it's time to go back to my new home. it was stressful when i first arrived because i needed to cook tons of food for the party on the succeeding night, last saturday. the party was great though, and my parents once again proved that they are insane partiers. everyone was up and. . .dancing. . . at 2AM, spilling drinks and all. i've never seen so many crazy baby boomers in one place before! everyone loved my food though, so i was happy. the final count was around 86 according to mommy dearest, so it was a pretty rockin' time. if only I could throw such crazy parties! jesus's birthday was pretty low key. . .as my brother and i already received our "big" presents weeks prior. i did get some fun kitchen stuff, and i get to take home all of the wine gifts to my parents. woohoo! i cooked a rosemary inspired meal for christmas dinner consisting of italian herb bread (w/ rosemary), roasted salmon (w/ rosemary also), rosemary roasted potatoes, green salad, roasted asparagus, and my mom made lamb, because she really likes it. all in all, a pretty successful meal i must say.

so now my stay here has come to an end once again, and i'll be heading back to good ol' blacksburg, where it actually gets COLD during the winter. it's been around 50+ degrees here every day since i got home and i simply will not stand for a fake winter. i need some snow! wind! sleet! freezing temperatures! this will not do. so i'll get some things in order on the homefront, work monday, maybe some tuesday, then it's off to wonderful, exciting, enchanting. . . staten island! where i will spend the new year celebration. i am oh so excited to be somewhere different than williamsburg for once. then i'll be heading down to the mclean domain for some partying with my newly graduated friends. oh, yeah, then i'm going to the beach. . .anyone want to join?? i'm so very looking forward to a wonderful vacation before my last undergraduate semester!

in more official news, i sent my middlebury application away a week ago. . .so i await my response. my future lies in the hands of the admissions board. . .eek! so i'm making responsible plans, even if i'm not always acting responsibly in real life. :) i AM, however, having a wonderful, fabulous time in the process!

ta ta!
