Gorgeous photographs of Cerkniško jezero, which is a 'famous' Slovenian intermittent lake, were on the main rtv page today and I just thought to point them out here because I quite liked them :)

Btw, what kind of camera do you use? :)

Thank you :D

A small and handy Canon Ixus 950 is :) It's great in everything except for the 'presvetljen' effect that happens a bit too often :/

It snowed today :)

Ooh, okay. I thought you had one of those HUGE professional cameras. :D It's good to know I should be able to take great photos with my camera, hehe. :)

Presvetljen - what do you mean? Is it the flash, or something else?

I don't have a professional camera, no. I want one :P But the truth is, I have my trusty old Canon eos500n, which is analogue and while it's far from perfect it does make okay photos but I barely use it. I'm too lazy to carry it around and to have the films developed in a reasonable timeframe etc. So even if I had a professional camera I wonder how much use it would really get. Because the ixus you can shove into your pocket and it's hardly a burden and that's why it gets a lot of use :)
I don't think there's anything wrong with your photos!
Do you use any editing software? You should always edit your digital photos at least a bit - I've started using picasa lately for that and I quite like it (it's free :)). If you haven't been doing at least a bit of levels correction etc. you might try and see how that works for you. Even digital photos taken with professional cameras need tweaking ( ... )

Hi! I'm Cristóbal, and I'm a 21-year-old Chilean guy who is living right now in the States. I came across your journal through a random search, and you seem pretty interesting (btw lovely pictures).

Do you mind if I add you?

See ya!

Well thanks, I'm glad you like the pictures :).

I don't mind if you add me at all, but I do not know you yet so I won't friend you back right away (please don't take that personally, I don't like to defriend so I usually friend journals I've been reading for quite some time...).

From what I heard/saw of Chile it seems a pretty amazing place. What's Santiago like?

It's pretty much the average metropolis, but I love it there (even though as any big metropolis, there are some flaws like public transportation -still, it's better than for example in the States-, or the constant pick-pocketers in downtown... but if you take the right cautions, you'll be doing OK). The countryside, the mountains, and the beach is one-hour drive from the city, there are tons of places to walk and sight-see, and the weather is great (humid and not-so-cold winters, and warm and dry summers).

No problem at all. Feel free to comment or ask me about anything that may seem strange in my journal.

Thanks for the description of your hometown. I'd love to go to South America some day and Chile seems very interesting with the sea and deserts and ice. But I have no idea when I might be able to go since this is in fact the first year in quite a while that I haven't been able to afford travelling more than for daytrips and my first plan for the next time I'll have extra money is Japan :)

Why did you go to study to USA since it feels from your posts as though you dislike what you're studying there (if I'm reading your posts correctly) - did you really want to study your subjects and found them boring afterwards?
