A day at Sea

I've been feeling a lot better, even though I'm not completely healthy. Yesterday I even went to liffe and dinner at my favourite mexican restaurant with my friends and S. and I have two more films to go see this weekend, so I better be feeling alright :P Well, basically I really am better since I don't have fever anymore and am less headachy and my breathing channels seem to be working almost all the time :) Yay! I wrote already that S. and I went on a day trip to the seaside last Sunday and now I'm posting some pictures (especially for sulky-rhino, who is having to deal with fewer daylight hours in sweden :( I'm sending a few rays of sunshine your way :)). Teaser photo to the left :D

Others are under the cut! Um, not very dial up friendly, sorry.

First the seagulls again, a bit bigger this time. Some family was feeding them (I don't really want to know what with as it was most likely some raw fish ewww) and that's why there were so many there, flying about shouting: 'mineminemine' :D :P It shows the absolutely only fault I can find with S.'s lovely new camera though: everywhere there's contrast and something is particularly bright, it just becomes pure white :/ Much more so than other cameras I used to use. And that bugs me. Because in every other respect I love this lovely new ixus and I wonder if it's some settings that make this happen...

I took this next one from a driving car and really like it for some reason :P This is the first time you see the sea up close when you drive to the seaside from Ljubljana and I love that the road is close to the beach here. Only when the air is clear you can see the mountains far in the back :) I like the lone white ship in the sea of blue :)

We usually park the car in Portotož somewhere where we're not really supposed to but it's free :P After a cup of coffee in our favourite cafe we go for a walk along the beach to Piran and back (thereby we cover most of the slovenian coastline :P haha). There appeared to be a sailing competition that started out near Bernardin:

While it was very bright, there were these high clouds (fronta) casting a shadow over everything even though the sky was bright blue on the other side. A comparison between earlier on the way to Piran when the clouds were still above us:

and after we were heading back from Piran, when we were bathing in the sunshine - it was about 20 degrees Celsius (!):

S. doesn't like this pic at all, but I like the 'naked house' :P The facade is being restored and I really like the base of stones that is common for older houses in this part of Slovenia. I sort of like what's underneath the facade better than all the fine finish and bright colours it ends up in after it's done :)

View towards the church from the edge of Tartini square... and a graffiti near the church that I liked :)

View from in front of the church on the hill overlooking Piran. You can see the clouds (fronta) that were just edging away while shadowing the whole of Piran... I like the roofs and the antennae :) Also, the sailing competition further in the sea looks a bit like a lost flock of pigeons :P

The roofs closer up - you can see the washing hanging there :P :)

I love the colours in the left picture! I really like S.'s new glasses as their design is nifty and they look great on him and have been botheringly taking pictures all the time :D (he hates having picture taken of him :P) and this one is different to all the others because the colours look just amazing (I think so anyway) but S. wants everyone to know that this is a macro photo and the lenses are not actually as huge as they appear to be :P
On the right is our lovel dinner at Pizzeria Gušt in Izola :D gnocchi with truffles :D:D My mouth waters just thinking about them mmmmm.
