Greetings from Munich!

We took the train instead of driving with the car for a couple of reasons.
- it is November. There is always a chance for snow and driving in snow is not a lot of fun and in fact on our drive here we sawsome snowy grounds.
- we got cheap tickets, which cost the same as gas, tunnel fees and vignette for austria and parking fees would have been.
- I haven't given it much thought in the past, but a friend of a friend always travels with public transport when going abroad because it is better for the environment... I'm not sure I want to follow her example to the letter but it is a consideration ... :)

We had planned to listen to an audiobook on the way, but ended up not giving it a go at all. We had a lovely companion in our train compartment, an old Slovenian lady that lives in Germany. It was like hanging out with your grandmother. We talked a lot and it's amazing the things you talk about with a stranger on a long train ride...we had a really good talk and I am glad we met and travelled together. But I realised after we parted ways, that I didn't get her name, so I don't have any way to remember her by but the nice old lady. :/

The hostel is lovely, it's as if the rooms are totally brand new, not a speck of dirt anywhere and completely sparkly clean bathroom... There is free wifi, which I am taking advantage of right now, but it's a lot slower than I am used to at home, so it gets a little frustrating at times.

Yesterday we walked around town. I bought a new hat and gloves because it is quite cold here, colder than in Ljubljana, definitely. S. was in his happy place for a half hour (Apple store). :) We managed to find the lovely Indian place we remembered having a lovely lunch a few years ago at, but it has since turned into a pizzeria, which was quite a disappontment, but we found a nice japanese restaurant and ended up having lovely sushi that wasn't outrageously expensive (yay!), which makes me happy. :)

Today we plan to,go to a modern art gallery and, well, there's a concert this evening that I am veery excited for. :D I can't wait!
