I can't fall asleep with music on. I've tried before and I never succeed because I end up getting interested in the music instead.

I've already written about the Replacements, Pearl Jam, and the Goo Goo Dolls. I'll be writing about Guster, the Hold Steady, and the Wrens later. Weezer is also one of my favorite bands, but only their first two albums.
So here's my favorite-song-at-the-moment from my favorite-band-at-the-moment: the National "Bloodbuzz Ohio."
Day 12 - A Song From a Band You Hate
The Eagles "Take It Easy."
My disdain for the Eagles is impossible to describe in words. Nothing about what they do makes sense to me. There's just no passion in any of their songs. The Paper Jets' producer, Scott Kammerer, once told me that I would probably love this music if I grew up in southern California. Then my disposition would be in line with this music. But I didn't grow up there. And neither did most of their fans. So why do they have a career?
I mean, look at this video! Even the Eagles look bored!

How awesome would this song be if a garage band covered it using two guitars, bass, and drums? That bass line is just awesome.
