Yes, I will admit that I was one of those crazed Halo fans that waited in line on November 9th 2005 at 12:00am for an hour and a half for the Limited Edition Halo 2 set. After getting home at 2:00am I quickly loaded the game up, signed up for my XBOX Live account and was playing online with over 100,000 other impatient souls. Four hours later, I went to bed. Forty-five minutes after that I woke up and went to work.
Late nights became common place over the next few weeks of my life as I battled for worldwide supremacy in the Halo 2 arena. I couldn't sleep until I had received enough experience to level-up.
Three or four months later, I had Halo burnout. Having played too often had slowly eroded the games entertainment value, and I'm sorry to say, I put the controller down for an extended period of time.
Well, recently I have taken to playing at least a few times a week. Surprisingly though, my hard earned levels and stats have all but vanished. Though this was shocking and saddening at first, it has become quite an entertaining attribute.
Due to the matching algorithms that Bungie uses for the matchmaking games, similarly leveled players are matched together. Naturally I'm placed with similarly leveled opponents who are in actuality, no match at all. It makes for a nice blood bath.
I would recommend it to anyone really. Just leave your XBOX Live account dormant for a month or so and then join in the fun!
