All the days (when I look back) have something calming about them...

I'm in such a good mood and all before 9am!

Whilst walking to work I ended up bumping into the mother of an ex of mine. The ex in question, [Hayley], I had known since primary school. If anyone sang in assembly it was her and I. We were both monkies in the school plays of Divali. Hayley and I were good friends and when I was in college and she was in sixth form her and I eventually began going out.

When we parted it was on good terms. We were just too different people and she wanted to go to Uni and after being here and there I would see her in town and we would catch up. I see her sisters constantly too, including [Kerry] who I will spare the horribly mentally scarring 'Kerry candle' incident which... well let's just not go there.

She began complimenting me and making a fuss of me, exclaiming that 'I've grown into a real handsome man' and that [Hayley] was missing out (apparently she broke up with her boyfriend who was a complete shit by all accounts). So I told her what I've been up to; The book, the convention, the job, the house, the wedding and the cat and ... well after we said our goodbyes I was almost dancing down the street I was so happy.

I think a compliment now and again goes a long way. It's put a smile on my face today.
