work time

i am at my father's house working as his assistant. its kinda fun, im getting paid to do a bunch of stuff. the variety seems like it will be very nice compared to the utterly unstimulating pharmacy atmosphere. i am curretnly scanning in some of my dad's pictures from his motorcycle excursion in italy. i am on picture number 6 out of 36 on roll number 3 out of about 20 and its taken me about 3 or 4 hours to get this far. while the rolls scan, i sit and listen to music, do live journal stuff, or anything else that needs to be done.

this has been, for my group of friends, the summer of halo. god damn, every night, we play halo. its really fun i admit, but damn thats a lot of halo.

oh, i am going to start scanning my pictures from japan into the computer tonight. so, all of you who are yearning to see visuals from my escapades in japan will be satisfied very soon.

i just started listening to barrel fever by david sedaris in my car this morning while driving to my dad's. his voice is funny to listen to, but i think that i might his humor funnier if read it with my eyes and not my ears. his sister also reads some of the parts. so far, she does the voice of david's brother tim (i think that is his name) who refers to his dad as bitch or mother fucker all the time, to his face.

im still reading harry potter, why? because its sooo awesomely fantastic. i was thinking and i think j.k. rowling is playing a joke on us by not really giving the literary world anything new, but setting of new standard for giving readers exactly what they want. seriously, the book goes exactly the way you want it to:
-harry, the ultimate kid protagonist, beats the odds and is able to escape his shitty-ass life with the help of a good lineage and friends in high places.
-then he becomes a wizard. i think this is the key childhood fantasy part makes kids love the book. i mean come on, think of the kids who picked on you and bullied you, then imagine finding out your a wizard and fucking casting spells on them. haha, you would pretty much would gain a license to do anything you want to not to mention everyone would be sooo jealous.
-he makes three of the most loyal and advantageous friends mankind could ever see.
-he always saves the day with the perfect balance of pride and humility.
-he's famous, but doesn't get hassled too much by "fans"
-he is the star of the school sports team
-he's has an invisibility cloak, a magic wand, magic candy, a magic owl, he goes to a magic school, he has magic friends, he has magic books and pictures (which are actually continuously looping magic video clips), he has a magic broomstick, a magic scar, and a slue of other magic things that aren't coming to mind.
-its basically like having your wildest dreams come true, but in a way that would be entirely perfect for your life.

now that i've broken it down, i think everyone should read this children's book.

blech, enough for now.
