Obama is actually frighteningly right-wing at times, from my perspective. I noticed moments of it when he was talking about assassinating Osama, like "wow, this guy sounds like a menace".

The fact that they killed him I can deal with (though I think assassination is still considered illegal internationally, is it not?) but how he talked about it. He wasn't "well this was really the best solution we had. We were in a tough situation and did what we felt we had to". He was more "the second I got into office I was like 'FUCK YEAH I WANT THAT GUY DEAD'" in his speech.

Things sounded good up until this part, where it started getting a little revenge-y for my tastes:And around the globe, we worked with our friends and allies to capture or kill scores of al Qaeda terrorists, including several who were a part of the 9/11 plot.

Yet Osama bin Laden avoided capture and escaped across the Afghan border into Pakistan. Meanwhile, al Qaeda continued to operate from along that border and operate through its affiliates across the world.

And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.

He should have said why he wanted to capture or kill him. "He killed us so we're killing him back" is bullshit, which is exactly what he said.

Heheheh Yes we do. :)
On a related note, I don't think I'd be able to cope with your conservative media. It's revolting. I wonder what's it like to live with that.

My understanding is you'll end up afraid/paranoid of everything :P

I wasn't expecting people to believe it. I'd think it's more about anger and a strong urge to slap that guy's face. And yes, I'm thinking about Fox News.

Oh no, just the first, fundamentalist ones.
Yeah I see. It's still incredible how they still have so much power and notoriety. That's what I'd do too.
