3 More Months

After meeting with my academic advisor, we both came to the conclusion that I'd be better off graduating in 3 quarters instead of 2. So, I'll be graduating in March, not December. sweet. now we will all know where you are until at least march. which means that even if there are setbacks in the plans... hmm...

it sounds like staying the extra quarter is going to work out well. they have the class vs research time debate here frequently, and really, classes give you only a limited exposure to material/methods. the only way to really learn is to work things out yourself and it will be good that you have profs you can go to with your own stuff when you have questions.

Yeah, that was a big reason why I decided to stay for an extra quarter. Doing these projects is one thing. Being able to get feedback on them, fix them up, get more feedback, continue to perfect, etc... is another thing and that requires time and resources (i.e. faculty). In two quarters, I might be able to get bi-monthly commentary, in three quarters I might be able to get bi-weekly. Or something like that. You get the point damnit!
