(no subject)
Hi. I just got home. I didn't actually get off work premises until 5:30am, and had clocked in at 5:03pm Friday evening.
I had no idea there was a convention center near the Wal-Mart up the street from us. I didn't find out until the Latin Pentecostal Church decided to pay us a visit en-masse. The only places still open past 10pm were us (McDonalds) and Steak & Shake. I feel for Steak & Shake, because they were closer to the convention center.
One of the girls gave me her phone to take a photo of the dining room at one point. It was literally a sea of people. The line was four people wide, and trailing out the door down the side of the building.
I didn't actually get to start on the dining room until 1am, and cars were still coming through the drive-thru so I kept getting interrupted. That didn't peter out until after 2am, and since they wanted us to be doing deck-scrubbing out there I didn't actually finish until 5:14am.
Did I mention I'd only been scheduled until 10pm? The two overnighters cornered me and looked ready to jump me if I left at 10pm. They'd been doing it with just them and the manager for the last two nights that I was off work.
