So, I've managed to watch all five seasons of Queer as Folk in 3 weeks. I am proud of myself. I got so addicted, I watched up to six episodes a day whenever I had the time.
Re-watching the show made me realise how much I loved it in the first place. I just love Brian and Justin. I still hate Michael with passion and I am still angry that Brian and Justin didn't get the happy ending I wanted them to have. But there's fanfiction for that ;)
My favourite seasons were definitely season 2&3. My favourite scene is most definitely the prom scene at the end of season 1. What is it about older boyfriends showing up at proms? It worked on QAF, it worked on Buffy... *sighs*
I loved season 2 because Brian and Justin started being a couple and to see that Brian actually cared and loved Justin... *happy sigh* Which is also the reason why I loved season 3. I hated the fiddler and I hated that Justin got together with him, but without the fiddler, we would have never seen how much Brian really loved Justin. And Justin wouldn't have realised either. Which is pretty much what he said when we had the 'most historical reunification since Germany'. Brian never told him that he loved him and would go on loving him even after he was gone, but Brian's actions showed just that *sighs happily* He even punched Michael to defend Justin *yay!*
I hated season five, because Justin turned into a copycat of Michael and Brian was just more of the annoying Brian Kinney, not the nice, loving but denying it Brian Kinney. The ending annoyed me as well. I wanted Brian and Justin to have their happy ending. But like I said, we have fanfiction for that.
Have been reading some really nice stories in recent days where they get their happy ending. It's a good thing my co-worker at work is such a big QAF fan and knows where to find great stories ;)
By the way, I watched several episodes with two gay friends of mine (well, I watched most episodes with friends, but with them it was the most fun). Let me tell you, that was the best thing ever. So damn funny! And Brian Kinney looks even better on a big screen. Thank God for my video projector arriving in time so we could all enjoy the magical proposal on the big screen :)
