album of the year

Okay here we go again.

5. my morning jacket: good sometimes the guys voice is just too much though. otherwise good stuff.
4. the thrills... cute, sure why not study to them, came out last year, but i heard it this year.
3. the shins... martha my dear?? i hear alot of that song in the music, good enough for me. =)

2. A Ghost is Born. Jay Benett who?? I must say i wasn't sure what to expect. The outcome of Jay leaving the band helped Wilco, in my opinion. The opening track, "at least that's what you said" is the perfect intro to the album and lets you know this is going to be an album sent from god. "Hell is chrome" the second track highlights the new Jorgensen piano style and how well it suits the band. Other highlight tracks are "wishful thinking", " Hummingbird", and "Theologians". The albums is a summary for Am, Being there, Summerteeth, and Yankee hotel foxtrot, all rolled into one, with the added new sound. However, what keeps this album from being number one is "less than you think", i couldn't agree more, its a cool track the first two times, but when you keep on listening to the album, its quickly becomes a "skip" song.A Ghost is Born by wilco, if you haven't got it, get it, and welcome them into your sympathetic hearts.

1. Happiness in Magazines: The Return of GGG??? Yes!!! The loud and super catchy Spectacular starts off this album, with a Kinks style solo in the hook, and another beautiful solo near the end of the song. what more can you ask for??? Two graham solos in one song!!! Can you say orgasim??? i couldn't cause i was saying "OOOOOOOOOO GOD" the whole time. I can't say more than this is one album that won't let you down. Guitars, clever hooks and riffs, and good singing. PLUS STEPHEN STREET PRODUCE *MUAH*

you may not agree to my top 5, so write your own. these are just my picks, i'm not picking for you.
