so far in my glorious career and Columbus State i have had teachers that i did not like or even despiesed (sp?). This is obviously understandable it is SCHOOL. Until this quarter however i had yet to run into teachers that were crocks aka had NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT THEY WERE DOING. Teachers in the past were hard, or annoying but they did have good classes and knew alot about it. i have 2 TEACHERS my color composition art teacher and my speech teacher. i could tell from day one about the art teacher, but the speech teachers true colors came out today. it was one of those times when you think your teacher should be asking themselves "hmmm should i retire before i screw up anymore people?...."
we had are 2nd speech today and one guy, whom i believe did really good on his speech, great tone, sounds like he did his research, everything was smooth, but for some strange reasons our amazing teacher (by "amazing" i just mean "utter bitch") decided because of the subject he was talking about she was going to basically interrupt him with her opinion that his logic was flawed.
The guy was talking about how his friend had died in the car accident some years before because of his friend's irresponsible drinking problem. The guy thought that we could help this problem but actually dropping the age limit down to 18, seeing has how ha people at that age who want to drink are already drinking ANYWAY lol. he thought maybe we could institute classes for seniors in highschool as opposed to banning the whole thing and just basically making it a "forbidden fruit".
She decided to rant about the fact that it just didnt work and that there are other factors and one of them she name was "genetics". Ok, im probably going to get yelled at for saying this but i REALLY DONT THINK YOUR GENES HAVE THAT BIG OF CONTROL ON WHETHER YOU ARE GOING TO PICK UP THAT BUDWEISER SITTING NEXT TO YOU OR NOT. my mother is in a family where one of her sisters is an alcoholic and another one is a social drinker, but guess what MY MOM DOESNT DRINK AT ALL. This was the only thing my teacher said as an example of why she thought it was flawed logic.
