Day 05 - A show you hate
Um...I could name a few, because there are some seriously awful shows out there, but has anyone ever seen The Secret Life of the American Teenager? No? Let me explain it to you.
Sixteen year old American teenager Amy, got pregnant this one time at band camp from Ricky. But she starts dating a cheap knock-off of Dan Humphrey called Ben.
Ricky starts off as a jerk who has lots of daddy issues and is dating Adrian, the school slut, who also has daddy issues. But Adrian sleeps with Jack the football meat-head, who's dating Grace the uber-Christian cheerleader.
Amy's dad is cheating on Amy's mom Claire from The Breakfast Club, with Adrian's mom.
Anyway, lots of stuff happens. Divorce. Amy has her unwanted child who she keeps. Break-ups. Ridiculous hook-ups. Some of the worst written story lines I've ever seen. Amy's mom gets knocked up accidentally. Adrian gets knocked up by Ben. None of the pregnancies on this show are planned. There's like a billion random weddings. None of the characters are consistent, or likable for that matter. Everyone says the word 'sex' fifty-billion times per episode. All the characters are idiots or just horrible.
The only character's who have had any growth whatsoever are the original baby daddy Ricky, who continues to be treated like an asshole for getting Amy pregnant. Even though Amy turns into a huge bitch to him, for being there for his son! And the other character is the school slut Adrian. Who although gets pregnant and makes plenty of mistakes, seems to be the only one who learns anything from it. And she's also treated like crap for it!
And the only character I liked, Amy's dad George, never gets a single win. He cheated so he's accused of being a cheater again and again, even though he has proven himself to be there for his wife. Also he used to be hilarious but they toned that down so now even he sucks! I don't know why I ever watched that show. From the first episode, it was pretty crap, but I've never seen a show with so many stupid, hate-able character last so long. It has FOUR SEASONS! WTF?
Ugh! I'm warning everyone, if you ever come across this show, DON'T WATCH IT! It sucks!
