And tonight, I decided to lump together all the lovely actors I thought we be awesome in the (way way wayyy out on the horizon) Umbrella Academy movie.
Yes, it's three am and I'm casting TUA, don't judge me, man.
00.01/Luther/Spaceboy
I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that Neal McDonough gets typecast as the militant supar-srs leader type a lot.
Why?
Because he is damn good at it.
And I will admit, it would be really amusing to see his gorgeous head attached to a space-gorillas body.
00.02/Diego/Kraken
Honestly, I just didn't want to say "OMG HUGH JACKMAN WOULD BE THE BEST DIEGO EVERRRR" because he wouldn't be, at all.
So, instead of Wolvie, you get Josh Holloway.
Hey, maybe it's just me, but Sawyer seems almost Diego-ish to me anyway.
Only, you know...
Maybe minus the accent.
00.03/Allison/Rumor
Gorgeous? Check.
Would she look awesome with purple hair? Check.
Fantastic actress? Check.
Lovely child-bearing hips? Er, not quite, but I can overlook that, because Paget Brewster is sort of my wife.
I've only ever really seen her in parts where she's sweet and unassuming, but I have full confidence that she can totally be sexy and Rumor-esque if called for.
00.04/Klaus/Séance
Despite knowing some fan favorites for the choice of playing Klaus, (if I hear the name Adrian Brody ONE MORE TIME...) I think Alan Cumming would be much, much cooler in the part.
For one, the dude has more than one facial expression.
He can TOTALLY play sexually amibiguous or a tweaked out freak, and who's to say he can't play both at the same time?
Besides, it's already been confirmed he looks absolutely gorgeous in makeup and drag.
00.06/Ben/Horror
Let's see...
A superhero movie, a muscular character with his face mostly obscured, who has minimal speaking lines but lots of action, slightly woobie-ish in that you just wanna give him a big hug...
Ray Park, my lad, I think you've got this one in the bag!
Out of all the casting choices I've flung together here, this one is my favorite. If Ray played Ben, I think I could die happy.
Oh, and while we're at it!
Because no matter WHAT I do, I can't unsee this.
Simon Pegg as the Murder Magician. It was meant to be.
Thank you and good night, I'm going to stop geeking out and try to get some sleep.
