Dreamt I was drowning at the tail end of a 2.5 hour nap tonight. Didn't realize until the last 30 seconds or so. Was trying to rescue some people from a small house that was full of water. Couldn't figure out why it was solid water with no coverings on the windows or doors. Tried a variety of things until it dawned on me that I was underwater too, and in a cavern to boot.
I could see the mouth - it was very wide - and swam for it. It opened into 50 yards of eerie, pale green water. The kind of green the sky is when its about to storm really badly. I kept swimming, breaking the surface to find I was atop a massive wave about to crest. I took a breath and my mouth filled with choppy sea. Back underwater.
The wave rolled past and I surfaced again, sputtering this time. Massive rolling waves as far as the eye could see. Bits of structure poked through the trough of the wave. A gas station sign, treetops. I fought to stay on the surface, view shifting between a submerged suburb and a flooded planet.
I awoke slowly. As I did, I saw myself lying back in a small bath tub, unconscious, arms hanging over the sides. There was medical/scientific equipment around and a few people in scrubs. Everything beyond that was black. My point of view drifted further upwards as I continued to wake, fading fully as I opened my eyes.
For 150 minutes of sleep, I don't feel rested at all.
