{OOC, Memory 1} Burn Rooster and a little Vile

The search turned up dry, but she had to give the place just one more look for now. Down in the Scavenger's Yard, Locket scanned piles of rubbish, pausing now and then to shift aside armfuls of junk as she sought something small... oh so small. After so many toasters, DVD players, and pieces of waffle irons, she wondered if she would ever find the hilt of something similar to her previously-acquired beam sword?

"Kweh!" Locket went still at the sound, her navigation software starting up as she stood up straight to have a look around. Her eyes met the feathery body of a rather large chocobo with blue plumage, lifting its avian head and looking right back. With a quizzical tilt of its head as it bobbed up and down, the large bird fluffed its feathers and happily stamped its feet. As she had never seen one of these creatures up close before, Locket approached it, stopping once she was no less than ten feet away.

"You're one of those delightful avians that bear flighty speeds. Whatever brings you down to this deep, dank, clutter-filled world?" She asked it, wincing inwardly at her forced speech. This ridiculous jargon was unlike her.

"Kweeeeh," the large bird replied, holding open its beak. To the reploid's surprise, she saw a sparkling memory crystal sitting neatly within its mouth! Before she could reach out to retrieve it, the chocobo closed its beak, and gave her a solid peck on the forehead. With a coo of delight, the bird took off at an incredible speed.

"Ouch! What in this vast, mysterious tree did you do that act of indecency for!? P-please, I beg of you, my avian comrade, allow me to covet that shard!" She cried, and took off after it. That bird may have been fast, but with some elbow grease, she could be faster! Igniting her dash jets, the purple navigator moved at a clip that quickly covered the head start the blue chocobo gave itself.

Anyone else may have shot at the bird, killed it even, but that was not in her programming... this creature may have pecked her face, but there was no evil in its intentions. Her navigation systems providing an estimated trajectory and where to apply her weight to lessen the amount of discomfort to the creature, Locket jumped, lunging forth to wind her arms around the avian's long neck and lay belly-down on its back. Giving an alarmed squawk, the chocobo bucked and kicked, slowing its run and focusing solely on getting its rider off of it. Trying her best not to fall off, her hand slid up the front of its feathery neck, and used her fingers to pry its large beak open.

"I'm .. merely .. acquiring.." Locket managed, before her fingers closed around the crystal. Her world tumbled as her resulting trance had her fall from the chocobo's back, her eyesight going dark, and all sensation in her mouth negating itself...

She stood in a darkened building, looking down upon a green robot that had fallen to one knee, shooting sparks from various wounds all over its armor. It quickly disappeared, making a hasty getaway as a figure ran ahead. A feeling of panic - whether it was from the memory or her own reaction was unknown - ran through her mind when she saw that she was running through this familiar facility with a familiar companion: It was that red-armored, pony-tailed robot again! There was a flash of green and an explosion as he cut through a cluster of enemy robots, and Locket quickly followed after him.

The facility was vast, full of robots in disrepair, pools of lava, and spikes. Signs on the walls indicated that they were moving quickly through a rather treacherous waste facility for broken and powered down robots, something that made her feel uneasy. Her mouth had a bitter taste, one that remained since seeing that green reploid, and it helped her focus on whatever it is the two of them were here for. Ever downward they went, leaping platforms as they traveled down what looked like a massive, tube-shaped chamber. Whatever was on the bottom was their objective. The bottom of the chamber was an array of pistons and crushers charged with destroying reploids, letting parts slide into the magma that nearly lapped at their feet. Kicking away at a machine in the center was a tall, leggy figure resembling a robotic rooster.

The robot chicken turned and glared at the two, the plume of flame making up his comb burning angrily as he charged. As the red robot dashed out of the way, Locket saw herself strike first, her body surrounded by a swirling energy as she spiraled upward. Ice crystals formed on her armor, but chunks of ice formed on the armor of the fiery rooster...

...And she was on her back amid the rubbish in the Scavenger's Yard. Blinking, she sat up, clutching the used crystal in a hand and looking for the blue chocobo. It had vanished, the area around her completely silent.

"Ah! ...AHH!" The reploid exclaimed as some text flitted past her vision, indicating a recovered combat program. The second outcry was when she discovered her state of attire: Her outfit had been replaced with a feathery ensemble that covered her dignity. A... a harpy...?

[ooc: Sight and Taste. The green bot is Vile. :D Yes, he looks like Boba Fett. The rooster is Burn Rooster, one of the bosses from Megaman X8. Some fans call him Fire C-.. well.. I'm sure you know the rest.]
